It is odd what your mind will accept in a dream. You can be sent on a quest to collect shiny golden rocks by the smurfs, or have people being polymorphed, but nothing will ever make you think "wait, this is weird, am I dreaming?"

Or at least for me it won't. I often have dreams where I can fly, and I always think "you see? I knew I could fly". Usually I get lost while flying, however, or have trouble avoiding particularly high buildings and trees. unsure.gif

In one dream I was even at two places at once, no problem. Only when I woke up I thought.. wtf??

Let's get back on-topic, shall we?

You know you've been playing too much Mordor when...

...the Questmaster has become your sworn enemy.

...there are only three things you fear in this world: complications, slime traps and the Questmaster.

...you believe the philosophical definition of evil is "Questmaster".

*When the cops catch you trying to kill all the fish in the lake with explosives, you protest that you're only power levelling and water dwellers are good for XP.

*You daydream about taking your maxed stats and millions of gold coins out of the game and into the real world.

*You have 401 monster entries in the library.

*You think "So, do you want to see my Rod of Ultimate Power" is a good pick up line.

Necrobumping this topic, i have one:

You think having a henna tattoo will not only sting, but will electrocute you too! (hennart, anyone?)

But, another true one would be:

You've played Mordor on more than one computer at the same time.

Or

You've played Mordor outside of the windows OS.

Edit, just thought of another one:

You've picked up on the fact that enchanters are part of the mage guild, but still learn cause wounds, a healer spell.

When you realise that the critical hit sound is the sound of a warrior, reversed!
When you realise the image of a spook is the image of a gibbering yethwa, inverted!

Actually if you invert the spook you get an image of some troll gnawing on a bone that's not in the game.

Actually, it probably was, back when it was still legal.

You know you've been playing too much Mordor when...

You swear by the Aard of Being.

You do a double-take whenever you walk into a room you've never been in before, thinking there might be traps.

Upon visiting a store, you throw useless items at the shopkeeper and say "Identify them. I have gold".

You have actually figured out a practical use for the Tome of Lies.

You search the local library desperately for a Tome of <insert needed stat here>.

That's not a practical use; it's just schadenfreude!

The practical use is selling them to the store for some quick cash. Wasn't all that hard to discover.

I remember trying to use oppositely aligned tomes of lies to get an increase. (Normal tomes give you a penalty if they are the opposite alignment, and a negative penalty is a bonus, right?) Didn't work though...

Oh look, two cents:

- You wonder why can't you just Shift-back from a place you have no will to be in.
- You develop a deep-seated hatred for mediums and psychics, even though you've never used one's services in real life.
- You also develop a deep-seated hatred for your teacher, cause his assignments are d*mn impossible!
- You never step in water more than ankle deep unless you have a floating device (Hah! See that f*cker drown me now!)
- You start living life carelessly and one day at a time, because "by the time I'm fifty amma find me some Dragon's Blood!".
- You start believing that reading about bodybuilding will turn you into a beefcake in under 4 weeks!
- You reach for your flamethrower every time you pass a kindergarden, cause them Zbrats are nasty.

And for the last one:
-When you're short on cash, you go to the forest and club some bears and owls to see if any gold pieces or books fall out.
