Basically a normal game...except using no automap. It'll be a challenge.

I have all of mine printed off...otherwise since I am rebuilding again I fall into every damn pit....and I do mean EVERY one...and actually even with the map in hand me and my overzealous fingers still seem to find about half of them due to the disease of 'Cranial Rectus' I seem to suffer from every now and then and forget I can cast feather essence.

Good idea though.

I think if you are making a completely new game that there is a way to import the map file...

Nope it won't work... I know the first four floors by hearth

And what is the challenge what do you have to do, or what do you have to find? Please be specific

Possible. But I find it hard to get lost in mordor. The only times i can't find my way is when I'm warped to an unknown floor

I think it's more of a personal challenge rather than a submit-your-characters type challenge or something to that extent.

I couldn't agree more,BLauritson. Moreover I don't see any point in having personal challenges. I mean, if you don't have any competition then what's the point? What will your aim be?

I think it's near impossible to survive this challenge, I only went for 3 squares without the automap and already was completly lost... tongue.gif

Some people enjoy setting themselves challenges like this. Just a matter of personal preference really. I suppose it's somewhat similar to the whole single player vs. multiplayer gaming debate. Some people prefer playing by themselves (like the personal challenge thing), others prefer playing against other people (like the competition challenge thing).

Of course! I my self really like single player games. But when setting challenges (personal ones) I want to be somehow awarded. For example in Command and Conquer Generals when you complete some challenges you earn some honors.

Like the Propaganda Challenge? Brainwash 35 civilians in ten minutes for bronze, 50 civilians for silver and 75 for gold, with a secret platinum rank available for getting 100. For extra challenge, remove the ability to use Fox from the game.

Thinking about it, I probably spend more time looking at the automap than anytihng else in Mordor - I reckon I'd be ok on level 1 with lots of stopping for thought and looking at the direction indicator (lord help anyone who hits a rotator or teleporter at low levels) but anything else would be rather annoying.

I usually get lost trying to find a place even with a direction notes so i have to ask people where to find 'em.

Now you want me to use no automap? mad.gif

if people do want a contest it could be a race to see who can get the farthers down/most rooms explored without the map thing

Once there was something wrong with map, so I started using graph paper to mark rooms and stuff.

Not really, it was mostly just quick sketches of lines and dashes...
