QUOTE (BLauritson @ Nov 21 2018, 03:21 PM) *
Greetings!

Not a newbie by any stretch but I have been absent for nearly a decade now. Thought I'd pop by and say hello again, this used to be one of my favourite haunts (and indeed one of my favourite games) back in my teenage years so it's great to see that the site is still going.

Can't promise I'll be very active but I'll try to pop by from time to time at least.

Until then, have a great day!

BLauritson

Believe it or not, I was just thinking about you a couple days ago!

I haven't been active here much either but it's good to see you're still kicking. happy.gif

This is an epic necropost, but I just find it funny that I was claiming how getting quested for Namanas wasn't so bad since they spawn reasonably frequently in certain areas.

Well, I was wrong.

I got quested for one. Cleared level 1 multiple times without success, so I said **** it. Decided instead to get the one from the confinement, release him, and charm him. Got a scroll of control to do it, kicked him out, killed him instantly. Dammit. At least the quest was done. Realized also that that's not how the scroll of control works. Been a while since I've played, clearly.

So I go cash in, level up. Pinned at this point, of course. Instantly quested again.

For a ****ing Namana. not_ok.gif

a question: what is the point of daylins smile and Erik's +1 crayons?

im not sure if one can find the crayons in the game or just the customizer

i know they are in demise but m1.1? i don't get it

They don't have any use other than selling them to the store.

Just added as red herrings I think.

Hey all,

I'm going to make an effort to get a VM running 1.1 tomorrow and it's been a really long time since I last played, so I wanted some advice. Looks like some of the old guides and mirrors are defunct and I'm reluctant to crawl through too many old threads. Would be grateful for pointers.

I'm planning on running a party of three, the classic:

Giant Warrior/Seeker
Dwarf Warrior/Healer
Osiri Thief/Sorcerer

Questions how do you manage creating a party with the optimal leveling guide?

1) Do I follow the guide, doing Warrior 28/Nomad 30/Wizard 41 for all three? Is it even necessary? Or can I just focus on leveling them in the two guilds.

2) My Giant wont be able to level in Wizard, and my Osiri wont be able to level Warrior. Do I just skip those levels? Or do I level a substitute. (IE Warrior 28/Nomad 30/Seeker 41 for my Giant... not sure what for the Osiri)

3) Once I've finished acquiring those levels, do I then switch to leveling the guilds listed in the builds above?

Getting late here on the West Coast so I may have missed something. I appreciate any responses... this place is so quiet these days. sad.gif

Munsae... that name brings me back. The picture was so creepy, and it was one of my first memories of how nasty monsters could get at level 3 and below.

The Nastrum is my most hated, though. I remember getting absolutely destroyed by them. Learned the hard way every time with this game.

Hey,

Each of characters carry a ring of flames and frost. They provide a renewable source of magic. And they work well on any crowd until around level 12-13.

Do you guys use the later rings after (of Truth, splendour)?

When's Mordor XP coming out, guys. happy.gif

The past 2 months have been a slow 2 months; we have all been dragging along with our work. And you know how it goes, if person A sees that person B doesn't do something, then he starts to do less work as well. And person C sees person B does less, etc... it's a vicious circle that plagued the MXP group in October and half of November.

Mordor 2 is not a full game. You can download some of the extensive demos in the downloads section of various incarnations of it, or you could pay for Demise.

If you really want to play Mordor 1, wait for MXP. Or Prospero's remake. Otherwise, you can look for alternative routes, but I warn you they are probably illegal, and you wont be finding any direction from us. They've got guns to our heads.

Lesson #1 of Mordor. Back-up, and do it often. Especially when you want to tinker with an editor. Guess you learned that the hard way.

By the way, I like the new avatar aardless. It's a subtle change, but it's aces.

Ooh, mechanical constructs, I like the sound of that. Sounds like they'd be a really cool, rare high-level type of creature.

Those attributes Chinstrap posted look good to me for them. I'd add poison and disease resistance too, though, since they aren't organic.

QUOTE (Not a Vampire @ Oct 6 2006, 10:08 AM)
Hee hee - funnier nick than you think.  I don't know if you heard about it a few years back, but there was a lot of fuss here in Australia about me.  I'm a rather boring telepath that didn't actually know until about four years ago, and by the time I did know, every one had my personality completely in reverse, including sexual orientation. Some females apparently got hold of me when I left home to go nursing, and have been running (and ruining) my life since.  I've only recently found out I never had to go out to work, and I'm certainly not going to now I know. Anyway, because I apparently affect people the way they do me, with depression and fear, etc., (I wondered why work was so dreadful, but nobody says they like work, so I thought it was the same for everyone), they decided I was a vampire ('cos that's so much more exciting than cricket-loving computer nerd).
Never mind. At least I now get to stay home with my parents and play computer games night and day.  It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it ...  yahoo.gif

Oh, don't worry, there's extensive playtesting going on, so those bugs will be all ironed out in the released product.

Yeah, PvP is all fine and enjoyable in games like WoW or Diablo 2, but I believe this discussion has been arisen before. Mordor and PvP go together like oil and water; the battles would last extremely short periods of time, and in it's current state, matchmaking is hardly something I can envision. Would you just wander the dungeon until encountering another party, then have to wait for them to res, and wander back? And what about loot and gold?

Not that PvP is a bad idea, it's just way too hard to implement into Mordor, and there's a lot of things that would have to be worked out even if it were.
