Now then, why would they not be allowed? Any version of Mordor, including Mordor 1.1, Mordor 2, Demise, or whatever may participate in this topic.

Do items in M2 have effects like Poision(1) fire(1) stone(1) ? I do know they have added damage to certain races.

If so would they be simmilar to if not the same as the ones in Demise?

Because theres this one dagger called the "Burning Blade" and I switched it for my Warhammer.

the warhammer was better in terms of extra def and it hit more often than the dagger as well as the damage modifier.

The dagger has Fire(1).

Would that mean it does more dammage due to the fire affect and is better?

Or should I use my warhammer?

(The dagger makes a sizzle noize on anything not 100% fire res. Ie, Vs dragons it just makes regular dagger noise and doesent say when you killed a monster "You burned one." however i am just stating the sound and message as to what it does on Demise)

EDIT: The stonning one would be wikked fun!

Edit#2: I also noted that its doing more one hit kills than the Warhammer despite its difficulty to hit monsters. Still I will let the people of the Mordor Republic (You guys) tell me what you think.

Bayonette is wikked cool however, What if you dont have one and you are out of musket balls? You then bash your foe to death with the butt of the musket xD (or what ever is the hardest point)

These are all 4-D 3-D rendered pics. They're not animated, though -- the computer may store them as 3D objects, but you can't interact with them. They're just a snapshot of the 3D models from a single angle.

Animating them -- putting "true" 3D into MXP -- would take much, much more work. It'd be nice eye candy, but it wouldn't change gameplay much. Maybe some future team of Mordor developers will make a first person shooter Mordor in 20 years.

HAHA! Nice!

MXP does not have visible 3D models of monsters visible in the dungeon view, although most of our monster art actually is 3D rendered.

On the other hand, MXP supports a dungeon-view with some of the same 3D visuals that Mordor 2 contained and many people found to be simple, useful, and snazzy at the same time. smile.gif

Well as long as it has some 3D then it will be better than M1.1 tongue.gif

To CJ: Can you link me to your best example of 3D rendered pic?

Hey Crusher Junior, Is there anything minor I can help with? Anything at all so I can at least say I helped on the MXP project? sad.gif

Please?

I'm not on the team, and I'm not a computer programmer by profession, so I can't give you as great an answer as many of the other people here probably could... but...

It's not THAT hard to make one thing 3D, provided you have the 3D engine already. If you have to build it from scratch, you're in for a lot of long hours working with a lot of math and programming and variables. The real time-waster, I imagine, is all the extra coding you have to add to make the whole system work with 3D rendering. You have to rework the view port to reference a different subroutine... get it to work in with memory management... add new classes for vertices, textures, the data format as a whole, etc etc... And then the art people have to work a lot more to rework all the artwork to be in the form of textures and models... which could even take longer than the amazing work they've done so far... I don't know.

In summary, Nudibranch really does mean it when he says it could take more time than the XP team has already spent on the entire game.

By the way, I hope you guys aren't too isolated at this point to not accept Nudibranch's offer!! Quite an inspirational one to me. I'd really love to help with this project if I could, but juggling 2 jobs and an advanced college degree has got me working 80ish hours a week already (as soon as school starts up again at least). I almost hope XP DOESN"T come out before March to June... simply because I won't have any time to play it until after that!! But at any release date, I really respect the work you guys are doing.

I see. I know this is a hypothetical question, however I would like Need to know. If adding 3D wandering monsters as an optional setting did not delay the release by much or no time at all and we got permission from Decklin. Would you add it into MXP AS OPTIONAL?

QUOTING AARDLESS:

Not Going to Happen. Unless we push back the release by, oh, ten years?
If you like the Demise art and Mordor style of games, then, hmm, play Demise?

hey! sad.gif I still like mordor you know. I like everything in the mordor series except for the origional M2 (M2 is ok however Demise pwns M2. tongue.gif )

I was just thinking that MXP is suposed to be better than M1.1 M2 Demise and so on right? blink.gif huh.gif

To get all the 3d coding ect. to put in MXP?

Ha ha laugh.gif That would be awsome! However, why would he listen to me? He would more than likely listen to BD CJ or Aardless

EDIT: Do you think he would really listen to me?
