I couldn't upload it so the site because it says that it wasn't one of the allowed file types. If I change it to another file type, will people be able to change it back to .mdr?

Have you tried compressing it into a .zip file?

My mdata11 is now available on this site for download as a zip file. I had to look up how to zip the file because I had never done that before.

Zipping or raring (with winrar) is pretty useful, it's good that you learn this kind of thing, if you're going to download things chances are they will be in a compressed state. The most popular ways to compress a file are zipping (think it comes default with winXP+, .zip file extension), winrar (.rar), winace (.ace) and 7zip(.7z) as far as I know.

Thanks for doing the maps, I'll try them out once i get some time.

Hey Mordor 2 players, I have finished the maps for levels 9-15, although I did not add any new lairs or storyline messages. My little brother helped with level 13. I used Braindead's editor to make the maps.

Also, I have one question. Is it possible to get all the treatises in this game? So far I have found 2, only from bounties. Does anyone know if they can appear randomly in chests, or if they were meant to be found in the dungeon in specific places?

Thanks for the new maps; I look forward to exploring them.

I do know that at least some of the treatises are available in the dungeon. Here's what I've got so far:
Treatise of Draining: Bounty
Treatise of Withering: Goblin Shaman
Libram of Hidden Places: Morkal Sorcerer
Libram of Magic: Blue Wyvern
Codex of Electricity: Blue Wyvern

But, I don't know if there are some of them that only show up as bounties. No matter how far my thief advances, he can't get in the Minotaur's chest, so I think I might need a better opening spell that I haven't located.

I dont know if teleporters and chutes work on levels 9-15 yet, because my characters aren't powerful enough to go past level 5. I will post as soon as I find out, but it will probably be quite a long time. I can't wait to get to level 7. I need those treatises!!

This is great, good work people smile.gif (I'm an old player from the 90ies - as most are I guess - that have been playing M2 on and off since then).

Maybe you should add a minimum of install info in the original post though? I'm gussing you just run the EXE and then replace the files, but knowing it before testing would have been nice.

I'm not sure but I think I recall the patch gives an option for backing up your exe. However I always copy the content of the current folder (exe and dll files) to another fodler (named "original files", or something like that) then run the patch. This way I can roll back in the (slow-ish) blink of an eye if needed without having to reinstall.

Go ahead and add whatever you want. I have lava on some levels, but I'm not sure if it should be there. I don't think there is any way to stop the lava from hurting your characters. It might make it too difficult in some parts of the levels.

Thanks for the go-ahead. I added a number of lairs and removed some of the lava (especially on the new areas of level 15). As you say, lava squares mean unavoidable item destruction, so they are rather harsh. Will send the new map to Devi.

It 'll probably sound silly, but i'm new here and haven't really gotten a definite answer out of the previous posts. So, if i get the mordor2 demo, and patch it over with this patch, i get all the lvls including the monsters, items tavern quests etc or is the game limited in some way?

I'm not a M2 guy, but i think you just DL it, and it works as if it was the full game (which doesn't exist). There is no limit, as David Allen (the creator) never finished it. Plus, there's no limit on the demo, and its a patch. Ergo, no change in limitations in time, monsters etc.

The most important thing is that it was never finished, so it's all kosher. What it'll do is "finish" the game, for you to play to your heart's content.

Oh, and welcome!

Thank you for th welcome.

What i meant to ask was, does this patch contain just the lower lvls, or can i experience the "whole" game with it, finding increasingly tougher and new monsters, better items (like that 400% dmg on humanoids blade one could get in one in a million quests from the demo's tavern) and basically everything else which could be characterized as a "normal" continuation upon the first 3 levels.
