I don't have near 700, but I'd say at one time or another I had a good 100. Sadly I don't need the pages anymore as I'm down to just a couple items I haven't found and a few monsters I haven't seen, which I will never see ranting.gif

@Aardless : so, alas someone has seen T'Mana (edited or not) on their screen, therefore I can now rest in the knowledge I will not be the first, yet another dream yanked out from under me smile.gif

I know you cannot legally download the game anywhere. you should have backed-up your original install file whistling.gif as far as buying from the internet goes, depending on where you live and how you pay it is VERY safe in my experience. sorry about your problem, im sure there are solutions out there, i just don't know of any...

@aardless - does anything spawn there? I recall going there on purpose to complete maps and nothing was there...maybe I was just fortunate, I don't know...there are similar situations on other (lower, way lower) floors where i am SURE nothing ever spawns, just not sure in this instance.

to answer question though, teleport or displacement are your best bets, although i am intrigued as to how long it would take them to find you there.... whistling.gif

I voted items/monsters because they are not enough, and some are buggy and don't show up, which when you've logged the hours playing I have, is incredibly frustrating. I'm not saying it should be THAT easy to find every monster/item, but it should at least be "possible". Give me a T'mana just one time smile.gif Or drop a stupid Hammer finally smile.gif

EDIT : I should mention just to be different that I like the quest system, except of course when I get quested for something that CANNOT be found. To me though that is the above problem and not a problem with the quest system. Forfeiting, as mentioned, is also a possibility and even at lvl 500 or so does not take THAT long to overcome.

For the way I play :

Healer
Mage
Sorcerer
Wizard

I don't have a wizard in my party at all, my Healer is essential for obvious reasons, I use my mage a lot on lower levels charming body guards, which is my preferred style of play. My Sorcerer is also very high in levels and I use his blasting fairly often, but as he is also a Thief so I try to keep blasting at a minimum to save mana for chests. BTW my Healer is also a lvl 83 Sorcerer for an extra caster of resistances, which is a great idea imo if you have the time for a complete party.

The actual order I would rank them in for the average player :

Healer
Sorcerer
Wizard
Mage

It's possible using items to have enough charming capabilities I guess, and it's probably not essential to ultimately winning the game. In a smaller party of 2-3, Wizard may become more valuable than Sorcerer, but the spell costs become a hinderence imo. Still is little doubt in my mind that Healer is the most valuable, and personally I'm surprised at the vote so far....

intoxication of any sort and Mongo don't fare well together in the dungeon, the errors I have made while under the influence are far too many to list, example of which is i defeated boss #2 and then just left my party there and shut down only to start up the next day to instant death because i had no idea what was going on, as he had respawned. that one cost me some aging, as i dont "cheat" with this game, so i did not restore. i too do not teleport well, get the + and - backwards smile.gif

a little late to chime in, but if you play the game at the right pace, meaning staying on each level untill it is easily cleared before moving to the next one, it is very easy to get to lvl 15. obviously a party of 4 humans would be the hardest (age wise) but still doable with patience. concerning DB, I've found lots now at this point and have used 4 total in all that time. my party is a giant/osiri/elf/human and yes I used all 4 on my human smile.gif. anyway my point is DB is not even necessary at all imo, IF you play at proper pace (and heal before town, don't use sanctuary, etc. all of the above advice). once you get powerful enough the aging attacks aren't that bad (or common). anyway just my two cents. oh and to be specific my party of 4 non-legacy characters took appr. 180 hours of game play to reach 15, of course at that point I realized I was not really ready for 15 and spent another 50+ hours collecting items and levelling up on 12-14 before I could safely play 15 w/studs. to be fair this is not even close to my first party or first trip down to 15, but I would think 250 hours of gameplay is more than enough to get a well build party to lvl 15 AND be able to actually survive it.

@king - I agree tomes of agility are indeed the most common I've found, but you should focus on aard's, not tomes smile.gif

@grobble - no offense taken, I assumed you were overlooking the actual challenge here. good luck with your solo nomad ogre, may be tough to finally find that item you need w/o thieving skills, but eventually you will I'm sure. you hit my point exactly, which is this challenge, while time consuming is not that difficult. all it takes is some luck and some nec. items. personally I think I would have went for a giant/warrior osiri/thief combo for better chance at getting needed items...

@nudibranch - do you recall if that character got the needed item(s)? that, combined with grobbles strategy of using shields may get you at least a shot at the big man. I agree about slime though, have to be very careful what you open as it would be horrible to get the CoD only to lose it on next trap smile.gif

well, obviously it depends on how much you play, but the time frame from lvl 4 to lvl 10 is prolly two-three times that of lvl 1-lvl 4, but that is just a guess, personally I spend a lot of time on lvls 6&7, more than actually needed I'm sure and I then went quickly through 8,9,&10. lvl 7 is, and will always be, my favorite lvl (well except for 15 I guess) to play as I enjoy the many possible routes and "zones" the lvl has. anyway at a fair minimum I would say the hrs of gameplay taken to reach 4 will be easily doubled by the time you can manage lvl 10...although a lot will depend on party make-up, equipment found, etc.

I think he meant only certain items are useable by certain guilds, so basically the idea is to get the highest power equipment for what guild you are in, i.e. what the best possible outfit would be for an osiri thief or a giant warrior or a human ninja, etc. so each guild would have a different set of "perfect" equipment, although there would be some serious overlap.

well i'm positive it is not only possible, but probably fairly easy, but it's gonna take one long time to do honestly, i.e. not legacy char's, etc.. there will be a huge difference in time this will take with or without legacy char's, plus are you including nomad as a char's "only" guild? otherwise your options will be very limited as it is not easy to start every race right off in a guild other than nomad. a real challenge would be to see who can win in quickest time with 4 pure nomads smile.gif now that's a challenge i would take part in....

well I would not use the word "common", it is actually rare, just not as rare as some weapons, but adventuring in certain areas more often will give you more chances to find it I've found, anyway I have had luck here -

you have already gotten excellent advice, so some of this may be redundant:

1. giant warrior/seeker no question about it in my mind

2. as per Aardless, nomad may be a better choice than warrior if you plan to have him as party's healer, and i would take the char to nomad 197 eventually, but that will depend on your patience smile.gif

3. & 4. osiri thief/seeker is my suggestion, maybe go to sorc. 83 for extra resistance casting?? i think 2 seekers are an excellent idea for any party if you have the time to develop them... if you do decide to go thief/spell class, then i would suggest sorcerer as i find their offensive spells more effective overall.

5. looks like it will be a fun party to play, i wouldnt change much

good luck!

Holy Sword is not as rare as many, but it depends on where you are adventuring? There is one particular area of one particular level that yields them much more frequently than others...
