(just guessing) could probably be setup like like a normal monster would and has x chance of appearing in certain random rooms (but only 1 per lv) maybe they could also join you for "exp" or for an escort back to town

yes. but the computer have to calculate experiences not only the real players, but the "virtual" players also. And, if it is so, what if, that virtual player(s) advanced more than the real players, so they always ahead of you. If this happened, you won't get the guild crest, right? or if the virtual players got to the big boss first. It all comes down to:
1. you set difficulty mode (easy, normal and advanced) towards the a.i virtual players which required extensive programming.
2. you set all the virtual players as dumb a.i players (won't help you much on deeper levels) and if it is so, it won't be realistic anyway, so why bother? (c'mon, when you enter a guild, there is a guildmaster already, and if he is dumb it is not realistic.)
3. set the virtual players (explorers) to be normal, but always behind you in advancing experiences. This will cause a lot of programming also.

Making virtual players of course definitely requires additional programming. but hey, it's up the programmers to decide that.

Right hand for arrows and "o" and left hand for "f","d","t" and the buffers.

same as Painbringer. right for the arrows, left for the letters and buffers. quicker for me at least.

Villain have multiple abilities just like ninjas. but the only thing villain is better than ninja is their ability to backstab. All and all, i prefer ninja better (thieving and fighting abilities is far more important than backstabing and don't forget, ninjas have a devastating swing ability). The only original and creative spell they created is poison, iirc. But of course, villains have ability to heal themselves just like paladins and mages.

wizard guild have a great movement spells (teleport and sanctuary) and also the spell that can kill the big boss (on par with healer). so i think wizard is a guild that certainly required high stats just like healer guild (although not as high as the wizard of course).

well, since i started playing again from scratch, i might as well write my newest characters:

the last time i played, i use cheats a lot (especially when i got pinned and had a very tough quest)

This time i promise myself to play fair.

My Characters:

1. Aragorn (yeah, original)
Human - Neutral
Nomad 26
Warrior 11

2. Gimli (another original name, haha)
Dwarf - Neutral
Nomad 26
Warrior 7

I'm gonna make Warrior/Healer/Seeker and Warrior/Thief/Seeker out of them. Been thinking of creating another character for Warrior/Sorcerer/Seeker but i am limited by time. I only play about a couple of hours a day, when i'm not too tired at night.

Well, what about you guys and girls? are you playing mordor all over again, or still using the same character(s)?

Hi y'all

Guess it's been awhile since my last post. Been busy with two kids and new position in my office. I started (again) playing mordor about a month ago and been thinking to visit here.

anyways, i always hate the guild restriction for races since i first played mordor. I -as a tolkien mania- always see elves as a race that quite capable being a warrior (legolas is a capable warrior as gimli, or arguably better imho). So, i always imagined having a character that is elven warrior/healer. Just imagine with a high spell ability that combines with brute fighting, i think will make elves a very superior race indeed, maybe to suppressed them, we have to make gaining experience for them a very much harder than other races.

My main character before i start over again, got to level 999 on every guild he entered. And of course, i cheated. It's a hell of a long time to reach the actual 999 without cheating, not with all of the work i have to do, and a family to take care of. whistling.gif

Very nice to see a lot of us still eager to help designing the new mordor game. But i have to say that nodoka makes a great map. Congrats. Anyways, i'm better at physics than geography. :laugh.gif

But i'll make another map if i have time...

Yup, very nice.

Although my first party consists of a Giant and a human (I have a different choice on Best Races- human is the best because they have less ep than the other-of course this is my private preferences. But I agree on the best guilds) smile.gif

Very nice lay-out. But the monster picture and the char picture reminds me of dos games. A touch of 3d pictures will make your game "Bloody Marvellous".

I choose no prefix for mordor 1. It's title is still The depths of dejenol, right. Unless you change it to Mordor XP, maybe then it will be different.

Most versions of Windows will allow you to change the number of clicks necessary to open an item. It’s a handy option for those that want to reduce the number of clicks needed (such as those suffering from repetitive stress injuries), but it can be tricky to get used to. If you want to make sure that you are in the default (double-click) setting, do the following:

- For Windows XP and Windows ME open the ‘My Computer’ icon and click on the Tools menu, then on Folder Options. Make sure “Double-click to open an item (single click to select)” is selected.

- For Windows 98, Windows 95, and Windows NT open ‘My Computer’ and click on the View menu, then on Options or Folder Options. If ‘Web Style’ is selected, click ‘Classic Style’ then click on OK.

Since you have already examined how you are clicking, you may want to change the double-click speed which will help Windows determine when you want to actually perform the task.

Open the ‘Control Panel’ and then open the ‘Mouse’ icon to work with the mouse properties. Depending upon the brand and model of mouse as well as the software that was installed, one of the tabs will allow you to access the ‘double-click speed’.

If things are opening too often that you did not intend, your speed may be set too low. The slower the speed setting the more likely two separate single-clicks will be confused as a double click. Move the slide bar to a faster setting and use the Test Area to make sure that the new setting is comfortable for your use.

If that does not help, it is most likely either a software or hardware problem.

To check the software, uninstall any special mouse software that may have been installed with the mouse (typically allowing you to program the buttons) and just use the standard Windows driver for the mouse. (Advanced users can test in Safe Mode to eliminate possible driver issues on PS/2 connected mice.)

You can also download the latest mouse drivers from the manufacturer’s website (search for ‘mouse drivers’) and install them after uninstalling existing software.

To check the hardware, simply exchange the mouse with another system. If the problem follows the mouse, than it’s a bad mouse. If the problem stays with the computer, then it is most likely a software driver or setting problem.

The micro-electronics under the mouse buttons do eventually go bad, so don’t be surprised if you are replacing a heavily used rodent every year or two!

Hope it will help..

iirc if you put them in different folders, you shouldn't get any trouble.
