I think for most of us it would indeed be a voyage of no return, i'm already lost if i'm just three squares away from the city... smile.gif

It's easier to find your way around if you're using the 3D dungeon in Mordor 2, since you get to see yourself MOVE through the dungeon, rather than moving through it in separate, disjointed steps which cause quick disorientation.

Well, I (after playing the demo for months) know the 1st level at least, and most of the common paths. It's like a computer program, click dungeon, start holding SHIFT and 30 seconds later (including fight time) I'm on level 3. Just need to decide which route to take. But, the automap is a very useful tool. (Quick Q: Do you use it Minimised or Maximised? I use it maximised so I can see all of it)

Yeah, you should never blocked the messages window, more over, if you disabled sound for mordor (like many of us), you really have to pay attention to this window, because you don't know your character hp or sp is low or if he/she is going to die. (messages like: help my hits are 2/150! really means that you are very very close to death)

Traditionally, the term "gay" meant happy, not the opposite of happy tongue.gif

Anyway, let's not discuss this issue any further, it's not relevant to the topic.

actually, he was reffering to my character screaming "help, my hits are 2/150!"
when he say "gay" of course he meant not gay, it is called irony... to say something which is opposite to the real meaning, or maybe you didn't read the corresponding message so you only got half the meanings....

but i agree this is not on the topic. Just want to stated that i'm not dumb. duuuuuh....

Hey, this is a very nice challenge! It just should have a clearer goal defined.

How about this challenge:

Disable the automap. Kill successively the following monsters: Aboleth, Slave Driver, Goblin Lord, Dwarven Lord, Twisted Elf, Minotaur, Butcher. Feel free to use your already-built high level character(s) for this. Use of teleport spells (including Ethereal Portal) is not allowed!

The challenge is to do this as quickly as possible. The quest will partly depend on luck, because if one of those monsters is not at his lair, you will have to wait for a respawn.

I will try this challenge myself, but I do not expect to make it within an hour!

there is no way i could ONLY use that "1st person" view...  once i leave, it's a one way trip for me

This is why I don't like demise too much. Because the "1st person" view is too big and distracting, but in m1 it's a nice size and dosen't make it too easy when you get lost.

__

I've tried the game out without using the auto-map on levels 1 & 2 which I know best. It's good how the brain can remember and actually be able to walk the dungeon both with/without the map. This sort of challenge can be fun if you've explored most of the dungeon (eg 1-8 or even better 1-15). Just go in random directions taking all the stairs, teleporters, and chutes you can, and at the end you can try and guess what level you're on by the types of monsters etc. (so find some way to your location depth and direction so that info in the meantime)

edit: i think eth. portal would be a bad idea anyway.
