The plural of Asmodeus? But Asmodeus is unique, so how could he have a plural form? It's a trick question! ph34r.gif

Does anyone a clue what the heck an asteryex actually is, by the way?

A normal sized undead, which is generally neutral in nature. It looks like a slime, so I think it's like a really badly decomposed corpse resurrected through foul magicks.

But, I note that Wiktionary gives the Latin plural as "phoenices"... so if we're going to go with Asmodei (which in actual Latin should probably be Asmodaei), then I want me some phoenices! tongue.gif
The latin entry on wikipedia lists his name as Asmodeus. The english entry calls Asmodaeus a variation, not sure what to make of it, but I've never seen it spelled anything other than Asmodeus (not that I am an authority on Latin or anything tongue.gif )

Every dictionary I've seen gives its etymology as "from Latin Asmodaeus... from Greek... from Hebrew... from <ur-language>".

Perhaps we could debate how to pluralize the Hebrew. laugh.gif

Male plurals add -im, Female plurals (ening in -a, -at, or -et) drop the ending syllable and add -ot, replacing any "e" in the preceding syllable with "a", and plurals ending in -ut or -it become -ujot or -ujit respectively.

That would probably mean one of Ashmedaim, Ashmedayim, or Ashmedhaim.

So to relate it back to the game's "Asmodeus", I'm gonna go with "Asmodeyim". And they're a bunch of bloody shkotzim, I tell ya. happy.gif

Wow, no wonder Roger Maris doesn't want one by his name in the record books.
